From Axe to Beehive: Transforming a Life

Before

Trees are cut down, burned underground, and the charcoal is sold at the market. A livelihood that consumes the very forest it depends on.

The Choice

The same hands that once cut down trees now care for bees. Training, beehives, and tools: former charcoal producers become beekeepers, earning an income that grows only if the forest remains standing.

Today

Wild honey, harvested according to the rhythms of the forest, not those of a plantation. Every jar is proof that nature is worth more alive.

The Jar. The Facts.

Unpasteurized, unfiltered

The pollen stays. A bold, distinctive profile that changes with every harvest.

FAQ

Where exactly does the honey come from?

From the Miombo forest in Zambia.

The bees forage freely on wild blossoms: no scheduled blooms, no plantations. The honey is harvested by hand by local communities, and every batch is traceable from the community to the jar. Packaging follows strict controlled supply chain standards.

Why does this honey change in color and flavor throughout the year?

Because we follow the natural rhythm of the seasons, without blending or standardized industrial processing. Each flowering cycle in the Miombo forest gives the honey a unique sensory profile, resulting in three distinct harvests:

  • April/May Harvest (Mutondo): Light in color, with delicate floral notes and a pleasant licorice finish. It tends to crystallize more quickly.

  • August/September Harvest (Mid-season): Warm amber in color, with a beautifully balanced aromatic profile and slower crystallization.

  • December Harvest (Musamba): Deep, dark amber in color, with a rich, intense, full-bodied flavor. It remains liquid for longer.

Do you sell to individuals?

No, Fuel Different is exclusively available to B2B customers (companies, hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses). If you’d like to try it at home, we invite you to recommend it to your favorite hotel or restaurant.

How do pricing and orders work?

Prices vary depending on quantity, format, and customization, so we provide them upon request.

Contact us with your industry and the approximate quantities you’re interested in, and we’ll send you a tailored quote promptly.

What is the “Beehive Program”?

It’s our corporate social responsibility program: your company invests in a beehive, directly funding the training of local beekeepers.

The honey supply is separate and is handled through a dedicated order tailored to your needs.

We turn ideas into actions. We bring together local communities and companies to create a tangible impact on people's lives and the land.
